What the Readers Have to Say:

The ADA Witch

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(5 Stars)

"For some of us, the best part of summer was sitting around a campfire telling old ghost stories, the most memorable being those based on local legends that kept us up at night because of hitting so close to home. The Ada Witch does not try to reinvent that experience. Instead, Steven J Eilers’ debut novel celebrates it, because at heart, it’s just that—a ghost story. Told through a narrator who could be any one of us, this tale brings life to the legend of a vengeful witch whose past bears down on characters struggling to leave their own behind. As a result, I had little difficulty placing myself in the story and—as successful horror will allow—sharing in the same terrors and twists en route to an end I didn’t see coming. The Ada Witch makes good on the campfire tradition, taking readers on a hauntingly engaging ride that will keep them up at night like only the best ghost stories can."

Asylum Series

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5 Stars)

"I’ve always been drawn to trilogies but had never tried any in the horror genre, so Madeleine Roux’s young adult Asylum series was my introduction. It’s an easy read but still manages to create the kind of tension found in more sophisticated stories. While I did enjoy the initial, Asylum, more than its sequels—Sanctum and Catacomb—the events of the first continue to unravel until the very end, making all entries not only relevant but necessary. The main character and his friends could easily go to our same school, be sitting in the next row or on the next set of bleachers when not exploring abandon buildings or uncovering long lost secrets meant to stay hidden. Where Roux’s series really shines, though, is in its use of actual vintage photographs to keep readers guessing if what the characters—and they, themselves–are experiencing is real or just a hallucination of haunted minds."

Stalking Jack the Ripper

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5 Stars)

"In today’s world, there is an undeniable fascination with serial killers, whether it’s due to a love of mystery, an interest in human psychology, or a need to safely explore the dark side we all have within us. Stalking Jack the Ripper offers readers an opportunity to fulfill all of these by blending history and fiction in the most terrifying way possible. Like many of us, Kerri Maniscalco’s characters struggle to evade stereotypes and establish their identities, though hers do so while working to uncover the identity of another—London’s most notorious killer. In this, Stalking Jack the Ripper is as much a “who done it” as it is a fictional, but macabre, account of the murders, using the actual crimes as inspiration. If the reader is anything like me, they’ll find themselves caught up in the investigations just long enough to forget what, or who, is lurking around the next corner."
